Bournemouth and Poole College have launched a brand new STEM Centre – following successful development of their STEM Strategy and Manifesto - to provide learners and employers with a focal point for innovation in STEM related education. The Centre has been developed in partnership with NEF and industry representatives to provide high quality education and training in emerging technologies such as renewables, biosciences and control engineering.
The STEM Centre was officially opened by astronomer and comet expert Nick Howes, who said it would help young scientists to build careers in the subjects taught there.
Lawrence Vincent, College Principal, said the centre is “an exciting and unique facility for the whole southwest region. It is the first of its kind to be created as a purpose-built centre and it will place STEM on a much wider agenda.”
