The MBDA Innovation Programme has been accredited by NEF: The Innovation Institute. NEF is a professional body and a leading provider of SciTech innovation and growth services to business, education and government. NEF's Innovation Council influences European innovation policy and supports its members, partners and stakeholders to achieve performance excellence and stimulate innovation. The IKE Accreditation underpins MBDA's commitment to the development and deployment of innovation skills and benchmarks their training and development in innovation against other organisations.
The MBDA Innovation Programme is focussed on developing an innovative culture throughout the business that supports the use of creative thinking, enabling the development of improved or more effective products, processes and technologies. The programme is supported by the Innovation Lab, annual Innovation Awards and Open Innovation programmes, where people are encouraged to develop initiatives within the business at SMEs, universities and colleges.
The IKE Accreditation award was presented to MBDA at the MBDA UK Business Recognition Awards by Professor Sa'ad Medhat, Chief Executive of NEF: The Innovation Institute. It was received by Jean-François Haye, Group Head of Knowledge Management and Innovation, who was joined on stage by members of the MBDA international Innovation team.
Jean-François Haye commented: “NEF: The Innovation Institute has stress-tested our innovation capability. It is good recognition for MBDA to receive this prestigious award, which acknowledges all the work done by the Innovation team for almost a decade now, and stresses the commitment from the business to develop an innovative culture within MBDA across our four nations. We will continue to promote and seek innovation in every aspect of our business, technical or not, to sustain competitive advantage in the changing environment of our domestic and export markets."
