Nelson and Colne College received their STEM Assured award at a ceremony today (Thursday 12 Oct). NEF CEO Professor Sa'ad Medhat presented the award with a science-themed flourish - by lifting plaque from a vat of liquid nitrogen!
STEM Assured is a unique, industry-led recognition of outstanding quality and engagement in Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths education. Conferred by NEF, the award has a particular focus on industry relevance and embedding STEM skills across a range of learning areas.
Lancashire-based Nelson and Colne became just the sixth UK College to achieve the prestigious standard earlier this year, and received recognition of their achievement at Thursday’s ceremony.
