Going Green with NEF

Green Technology programme is a series of modules which combine e-learning and practical guided study. They have been designed for staff with existing plumbing or electrician qualifications, and will develop skills in the environmental technologies sector. These skills are in high demand, with the UK market for Low Carbon and Environment Goods and Services estimated to be worth around £100bn per year.

We currently offer Level 3 courses covering the fundamentals of environmental technology systems, through to the installation and maintenance of small-scale renewable energy and water systems.

The fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
This is an introductory module that introduces a range of technologies such as solar thermal, solar photovoltaics, heat pumps, micro wind and hydro generation, CHP and water re-use and harvesting. Together with current regulations, incentives and site selection issues.

Installation and maintenance of small scale photovoltaic systems
The module is split into two main topics: installation, commission and handover of small scale solar photovoltaic systems and inspection, service and maintenance of small scale solar photovoltaic systems.
