A West Midlands gathering at the RAF COSFORD celebrated the launch of the STEM Centre by New College Telford following the development of their STEM strategy which has been created in partnership with NEF. The STEM strategy has also given ground for development of a new University Technical College that will focus Engineering including aeronautical and aviation as well as mechanical and electronics. The STEM Strategy brought together engagement with a number of external partners including the University of Warwick, Aston University, the Royal Air Force, BAE Systems, Baker Dearing Educational Trust, City & Guilds, Shropshire Council, and Telford & Wrekin Council amongst others.
“The STEM Manifesto gives our students, staff and stakeholders a summary of the vision we’ve created and makes specific pledges which we will implement over the coming months and years to meet the needs of scientific, technological, engineering and manufacturing employers in our region. Over £3.2 million is being invested in the STEM Centre, digital media, technology and learning resources.” said Garry Phillips, Principal New College Telford.
