Environment in Television and New Media Awards Evening 2009, 23 November 2009, IET
NEF was pleased to have been part of this exciting event, having sponsored Category 1 - the 2009 MIDAS Prize for the Environmental Science and Technology in a European TV Drama or Documentary - which was won by Thomas Weidenback and Shi Ming for their inspiring film 'Countdown on the Yangtze'. The MIDAS prize was presented by NEF CEO, Prof Sa'ad Medhat. The event was staged by PAWS/EuroPAWS and Omni Communications, and supported by DECC, IET and other environmental and educational agencies.
Category 2 - Environmental Science and Technology in a European TV General Programming - sponsored by the IET was won by Claudia Mayer for a provocative film item 'E-Waste Scandal in Ghana' broadcast through Germany's science programme Galileo. Category 3 - Envronmental science and technology in European New Media was won by Isabella Milch and Klaus Naumann for their DVD 'Fusion 2100'.
